sadie :: newborn

I had the pleasure of taking some newborn photos this past weekend!
Sadie is such a cutie, she didn't want to stay asleep and let us position her as much as I had hoped,
but I think we came away with a few winners!

Here are a few of my favorites :)

Scott + Jen :: married

Heather and I came back up from NJ on saturday to attend Scott & Jen's wedding reception.
The ceremony itself was a small affair just for close family, and the fun reception was at The White House at Webster park.
It was a windy and bitter cold day by the water, so we made use of the warm interior for photos.

I love this place!

 There were beautiful fall colored flowers and gourds all over:

 We did sneak outside briefly for a quick shot in the wind:

Heather and I are so happy for you guys and had such a great time!
Congrats again!

Grant Park

I spent a few days in Chicago last week for the GreenBuild Conference.
Man what a great time, learning about what we can do to help build a better planet!

While I was there, I was able to get out of the convention center and get some architectural photos.
Here is a slideshow of a few photos I got one evening in Grant Park!

Boy would I love to do an e-shoot in this park someday :)

Roller Derby :: Season Closer

As many of you are probably already aware, in addition to lifestyle photography, I volunteer to shoot for the local roller derby league.  The girls at Roc City Roller Derby work hard and deserve good photos of their bouts, so I try to make it to as many as I can to help support Pixel8 and his photog crew.
Heather plays for the Rottenchesters, so that makes it an easier commitment :)

Around those parts, I go by the name "Big Flash" haha
My derby photos regularly get added over at mitchsgallery.com in a roller-derby folder:
www.mitchsgallery.com/rollerderby

so this past weekend was the season closer, "bouting for boobies" and the proceeds went to the local Breast Cancer Coalition.

Here are a couple shots from the night:

I think the new season will start in just a couple short months!  Can't wait!  Get your tickets as soon as you can because they sell out. Rochester Roller Derby is pretty popular :)

Ashley + Steve :: Engaged

We had a beautiful fall afternoon this past Sunday, so I hurried back from
hiking in the catskills to shoot this gorgeous couple at Ellison park.

It was a little later start than anticipated but we had some great light for few minutes :)

I loved this one of Ashley in this great tree:

And back at their house, Heather got these awesome images of Ashley and their dog Roscoe:

What a pleasure to shoot with you guys :)
You are such a cute & fun couple!

I hope you both enjoyed it as much as we did!
